This research was investigated the effect of different concentration of graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide on fouling mitigation of Polysulfone (PSf) membranes used in membrane ultrafiltration (UF) to treate bovine serum albumin (BSA) processing wastewater. Graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets have been synthesized by the method of Hummer. GO was reduced at a temperature of 200 ° C for 2 hours in a thermal oven. The GO and rGO nanosheets have been characterized by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The mixed matrix membranes were prepared with different concentrations of the GO and rGO by phase inversion. The hydrophilicity of membranes was evaluated by water contact angle measurment. The permeability of the membranes was determined by measuring the pure water flux (PWF). The antifouling of membranes were studies using feed solution containing BSA as the standard protein for rejection.
