Abstract

Abstract: Graphene oxide nanosheets have been synthesized by the method of Hummer and they have been characterized by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The addition of graphene oxide nanosheets in polysulfone mixed matrix membranes is increased hydrophilic, permeability and antifouling properties. Polysulfone/ graphene oxide ultrafiltration membranes are prepared by phase inversion. Water contact angle measurement indicates that increased hydrophilic membranes. The membrane permeability has been determined by using pure water flux. Also, the antifouling abilities of the membranes are determined by comparison the water flux recovery ratio between the pure water flux before and after ultrafiltration process.
