Iron nanoparticles have been explored recently for their beneficial applications in many biomedical, in environmental remediation, and in various industrial applications. Chelates are useful in poultry nutrition to protect trace minerals during digestion. The experiment was conducted to investigate synthesis of iron nanoparticles and methionine hydroxy analogue chelate as a feed additive poultry. Iron nanoparticles (Fe-Nano) were produced by co-precipitation from an aqueous Fe 3+ /Fe 2+ solution using concentrated ammonium hydroxide. Iron Nanoparticles and Methionine Hydroxy Analogue Chelate (Fe-Nano-Met Chelate) to an aqueous solution of a mixture of Fe(III) and Fe(II) ions in a molar ratio (2:1), a solution of amino acid in the molar ratio (2Fe(III):1-Fe(II):2 Methionine. Fe-Nano and Fe-Nano-Met Chelate were identified by different analytical methods (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM)). The average diameter evaluated with the XRD of Fe-Nano and Fe-Nano-Met chelate, as 8-12 nm and 14-22nm. TEM photograph confirmed size and shape of Fe-Nano and Fe- Nano-Met chelate. These results suggest that Fe-Nano and Fe-Nano-Met Chelate can used as feed additives in feed industry and the poultry industry.
