Abstract— Load Frequency control is one of the important challenges in an isolated microgrid, which has been usually resolved by PID controllers. In this paper an adaptive Fuzzy PID controller has been introduced for this purpose. The independent microgridstudied in this research includes Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), Fuel Cells (FC), Diesel Engine Generators (DEG), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS)and AquaElectrolyzer (AE). A performance comparison has been carried out between the proposed controller and a conventional PID controller in which the coefficients have been determined via Zigler-Nicules method. Simulation results confirms both the effectiveness of adaptive Fuzzy PID controller in frequency deviation damping in microgird and its better performance during load variation and also during dynamic and transient operation of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
