In this study the effects of number of selenium (Se) and vitamin E injections during late pregnancy on thyroid hormones in Mehraban ewes and their lambs was evaluated. For this purpose, 24 pregnant Mehraban ewes in the 9 weeks before lambing were divided into 4 groups in a completely randomized design. Experimental treatments included: first group, without injection (control); second group, one injection (at 9 weeks before lambing); third group, two injections (at 9 and 6 weeks before the lambing) and forth group, three injections (at 9 and 6 weeks before the lambing and 1 week after lambing). Blood samples were collected from all ewes at one week after lambing and from all lambs at the age of two weeks (before each injection). Results showed that in the supplemented treatments, a significant increase in the concentration of T3 and significant decrease in the concentration of T4 were observed in ewes and their lambs (p>0.01). Results also revealed that increase in number of injection had significant effect on the concentration of T 3 and T 4 in injected ewes and their lambs.
